I’ve got to tell ya… I am on my last course work and then its off to the race for the dissertation. It appears that I was reckoned for full-time student status, but now the light is appearing at the end of the tunnel and its not a freight train. I think I might actually finish. I understand why they call a doctorate a terminal degree. You feel like you are going to die before its all over. I am so ready for this to be over. However, I have at least 6 months to a year before I can actually say I am done. I am not disappointed though. I am part of a rare breed of individuals who willingly push to go further, to rise higher, and to aspire and be inspired.
Jesus said, that His ways are not ours. His thoughts are not ours. Well, I know that to be true. I am so ready to leave my ways and my thoughts behind. To move into what ever He has planned for me. The journey towards a terminal degree is one of endurance. Which reminds me of what James stated in 1:12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. I will continue forward, under the testing of my chair, methodologist, content expert and other scholars who will read and provide feedback, comments and even criticism. All to help fashion my life and future from learner to the doctor. Through Christ, I can stand the test. Through Christ, I can remain stedfast. Through Christ, I will embrace the terminal degree with joy as I look toward the goal He has for me. Stay tuned if you dare. Things can get pretty boring and repetitive, but when its all said and done, TO HIM BE GLORY FOREVER AND EVER AMEN!
